Frustrated with WRT350N Connection Problems

I've owned this Linksys WRT350N (version 1) for a few years now and have had nothing but problems with it. Back when I first purchased it from Buy.com I found it would drop internet connectivity at least once a week. Once I realized the issue, I put it aside and was hoping for a firmware upgrade to resolve the issues. Now 4 years later, I pull it out of the closet and find out there is a firmware upgrade available.

So, optimistically, I download the firmware update and apply it to the WRT350N. The upgrade went well, and I was actually fairly pleased. I then proceeded to connect my DSL modem and guess what... I worked (no real surprise there).

The real problems began to happen weeks after I made the switch from my trusty Linksys WRT54G Wireless Router to the 'new' WRT350. In the evenings, I began to have my internet connection simply drop. The router was still available and I was able to access the admin area of the router by accessing http://192.168.1.1 so I knew it had to either be an issue with the DSL or the WRT350N. After resetting the DSL modem it became quite apparent that the firmware revision still did not fix the dropped connection issue.

So much for trying to resurrect the 'new' WRT350N from the closet. I guess I can throw it in the yard sale pile. Any takers? Maybe I can find some 3rd party firmware somewhere.
