VMware Certification on a Shoestring Budget

So I decided to make a move towards my first certification. I chose VMware VCP5-DCV.
I was given the opportunity last year, before our big push to the virtualized world, to attend a non-certified VMware class. The class my up my brain and I fell in love with VMware right away.
Soon after the class, I frequented the Reddit VMware sub. I soon found an online VMware certified class that others were taking to allow them access to the VCP5-DCV test. The class was offered by Stanly community college.
The cost of this online class was dirt cheap compared to all other certified classes, just around $250 with books.  After completing the course, you are then able to sit the test and also receive a 70% discount voucher.  How can you go wrong?
I'll make a follow-up post about the class soon.

  1. Here's a list of all Accredited VMware IT Academies: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0At5YcMvz2XzJdHFCSVJWcUEzaGpPZ2pxd0taVXVJcnc#gid=0

Many are able to offer the training at a fraction of the cost. I'm an instructor at Cleveland Community College (Shelby, NC) and we offer the training for $180 plus $44.50 for the textbook. We have a class starting June 29th. If you are interested, fill out the Google Form below and I will contact you:
